Design London Forum

Following on from the production of Design London's new website, Frameworks has created a forum that allows members to discuss design research topics.

The forum was created using phpBB's Open Source forum solution, and then customised for Design London's specific requirements. This included adding two forum sections: 'active research' and 'proposed research', and then individual topics within these sections. Design London are able to fully edit and update the forum through an easy to use administration panel, allowing it to alter the topics in relation to forthcoming events and lectures.

'FrAgile' the Agile Frog

The Jersey Agile frog is a conservation priority for Jersey. Considered a distinct population, it would be classified as critically endangered under the international conservation criteria of the World Conservation Union, if officially assessed. It is confined to only one native site and is threatened by droughts, predators, water pollution and habitat change.

HSBC Private Bank, Bedell Group, Motormall and Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust have formed a partnership to deliver a programme that supports both the active field conservation of the Agile Frog and a schools education and public awareness programme targeting all of Jersey’s primary and secondary schools. In support of this, Durrell asked Frameworks to design the livery for a van, which will visit the schools in Jersey. Paul Cox, a local artist was commissioned by Durrell and briefed by Frameworks to create a series of illustrations for the van.

The final design includes Paul's fantastic illustrations, the partners logos and brief information about the Agile Frog. It also includes an identifier for the name FrAgile, designed by Frameworks.

If you're ever in Jersey, have a look out for the van!

IBM and citizen-centricity

IBM wanted to communicate their point-of-view on citizen-centricity in an attention-grabbing way. The objective was to differentiate IBM from the competition by focusing on their track record of delivering citizen-centric services and client ready solutions.

With the use of photography commissioned and managed by Frameworks and quotes from the public, the brochure sent a strong message about how IBM was listening and how they are aware of the problems facing people today.

New website for the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art

As part of our commitment to the Islington community, for the past five years Frameworks has been proud to sponsor all the design needs of our neighbour – the esteemed Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art.

The Estorick is celebrated internationally for its core of Futurist works, as well as figurative art and sculpture dating from 1890 to the 1950s.

In recognition of the Estorick's 10th anniversary, Frameworks has designed and built its new website, which can be viewed at www.estorickcollection.com

The new website allows the user to access information about past, present and future exhibitions, together with details about forthcoming events related to the current exhibition. The site also provides a comprehensive listing of artists showcased in the gallery's permanent collection.

The website was built using PHP and MySQL.

New Ecocit identity and website launched

Ecocit is a global network of leading academics, industry partners and concerned public bodies focused on developing and transforming cities that are sustainable both ecologically and economically. Ecocit is funded by the EPSRC, the United Kingdom's Engineering and Physical Science Research Council. It is headquartered at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College London, and works with other institutions and industry partners from China, Australia, Spain and across the United Kingdom.

The project involved developing a new mark for the organisation and a website to introduce people to the objectives of the network, its members, the research currently underway, and the plans for new research.

The new website uses Flash elements, PHP and MySQL. It also uses a content management system allowing the client to make updates directly to the site.

Frameworks has just completed the design and build of Design London's new website.

Design London is a new international centre for design led innovation. Its purpose is to develop, research and deliver radically new practices, tools and processes that transform the way businesses innovate, and translate their creativity into commercial success.

Design London combines creativity and expertise in design from the Royal College of Art, engineering from Imperial College's Faculty of Engineering and the business of innovation from Imperial College's Tanaka Business School.

Design London was established following the recommendations of the Cox Review of Creativity in Business.

The new website uses Flash elements, PHP and MySQL. It also uses a content management system allowing the client to make updates directly to the site.

bontourit.com launched

'Knowledge at your fingertips' with IBM

IBM asked Frameworks to create a 'leave-behind' for sales executives of small to medium sized businesses, that tells the story of IBM's Information on Demand (IOD) offering.

We created illustrations of owls using fingerprints, to represent the title of the piece: 'Knowledge at your fingertips'. The final design used a concertina fold, making it engaging and exciting for its intended target audience.

A redesign for the Estorick Collection

Frameworks has been asked by the Estorick Collection of modern italian art to redesign its exhibition materials and website. Both of these projects will be completed in time for the galleries 10th anniversary in January 2008.

Frameworks has been working with the Estorick Collection for the past four years, sponsoring their quarterly exhibition materials, and we are very pleased to be continuing this relationship with these two new exciting projects.

A new guide book for Durrell

We have recently completed the design and production of Durrell's new guide book. The comprehensive guide is packed full of interesting information about Gerald Durrell the man, the Trust's headquarters in Jersey and the endangered animals the organisation works with across the globe. It has been printed by a Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) accredited printer using an FSC certified paper.

"The guide book is a stylish, well written, pictorially pleasing booklet that is worth every penny. I am absolutely delighted and proud to put my name to it. Happy Birthday Jersey Airport

Frameworks was asked to develop an identifier to celebrate Jersey Airport's 70th anniversary. The 'YEAR07/70YEARS' identifier is a play on the coincidence that the 70th anniversary falls in the year 2007.

To support the new mark, Frameworks has created a guide to help people familiarise themselves with the identifier and find out how to implement it across the various Jersey Airport communications.

The think, play, do group came to Frameworks to help them create a new website for their organisation.

think, play do works with large and small companies and city authorities to enhance their capability to achieve successful innovation and to resolve innovation-related issues, be they of a strategic or operational nature.

The new site has an admin section allowing the client to update content without needing any technical expertise.

Durrell annual report

For the second year running Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust asked Frameworks to design its annual report and supporting materials. Using the ‘we hope’ vision of the Trust based on Gerald Durrell’s challenge for the future survival of the world’s wildlife, Frameworks created a distinctive report that could also be used as a poster.

STMicroelectronics (ST) is one of the largest semiconductor companies in the world, designing, developing and marketing 3,000 products to its blue-chip customers worldwide.

With the launch of the STM32 product family, STMicroelectronics asked Frameworks to develop a mark and strap-line that represented the benefits of the new offering. STM32 allows ST's clients to have more freedom and creativity when designing their products. A butterfly was used to represent these benefits, together with the strap-line 'Releasing your creativity'.

The new mark and strap-line have been eagerly endorsed and rolled out across a variety of communication channels.

Lucio Fontana: At the Roots of Spatialism

The new exhibition opening at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art charts the development of Lucio Fontana's theories of 'spatialism' and explores lesser known aspects of his oeuvre, such as his work as a designer of clothing and interiors.

The iconic punctured and slashed canvases of Fontana are landmarks in the history of abstract art.

Frameworks sponsors the design of the Estorick Collection's exhibition materials, which includes flyers, posters and signage.

The exhibition runs from 27th June – 9th September 2007, so be sure to check it out!

Following a formal tender process, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has selected EC Group (Frameworks is an EC Group company) as a preferred supplier for creative design services.

The (DVLA) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport (DfT). The organisations primary aims are to facilitate road safety and general law enforcement by maintaining registers of drivers and vehicles, and to collect vehicle excise duty (car tax).

EC Group will be supporting the DVLA with direct marketing, direct response and online digital marketing creative design and production.

A Slap in the Face! Futurists in Russia

The new exhibition opening at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art takes a look at the Futurist movement in Russia, comparing and contrasting the Russian protagonists with their Italian contemporaries. Featured artists include Chagall, Goncharova, Larinov, Malevich, Popova and Rosanova in addition to Italian Futurists such as Balla, Boccioni and Severini.

Durrell exhibition banners
